LPG tank trailers, MC 331 trailers, are specifically constructed for transporting different types of liquified gases (NGL, LNG, & LPG) such as liquid anhydrous ammonia, propane, butane, propylene, dimethyl ether, isobutane, and butadiene. These tank trailers are made of steel, with an external insulation layer and pressure jacket with a hauling capacity of 10600 to 11600 gallons.
The two common pressure ratings MC 331 tanks come in are 250 PSI and 265 PSI. Because of the high pressure of LPG, these tank trailers have a cylindrical shaped design with only one compartment. These LPG trailers come equipped with safety features such as a rupture disk device, emergency shut-off device, electrostatic device, safety valves, pressure gauge, liquid level meter and thermometer unit, and more to ensure the safe loading, hauling, and unloading of liquefied gases.
